Dr. Ghayur Alam, Director of the Centre had extensive experience in studying technology policy, sustainable agriculture, environment and energy.

Dr. Alam has a Ph. D from the University of Manchester (U.K) on issues relating to technology transfer. His previous appointments include Fellow, Institute of Advanced Studies, Manchester, U.K.; Senior Economist, National Council for Applied Economic Research (NCAER) New Delhi, and Director, Centre for Technology Studies, New Delhi. Dr. Alam has also worked as a consultant to a number of international agencies, including OECD, ILO, UNCTAD, UNDP, UNIDO and INTECH.
